1. How do I download the app?
Where can I download the app?
You can download the app from the following stores:

- iOS: App store (US, UK, and South Africa)
- Android: Google Play (US, UK, and South Africa)

*You must be registered with App store and Google Play. Registration is free.

On which devices can I use the app?
The app is supported on tablets with the following operating system:
- Android 4.03 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and above and
- iOS7.
Android tablets with screen sizes of 7" and smaller will be catered for in the Phone version of the app launching later this year.

How do I search for the app in the app store?
Use the keyword "Standard Bank" or "Standard Bank Mobile Banking" to search for the tablet app in the app store.

2. The Registration Process
Will I pay any fees to download and use the app?
You will pay no fees to download and use the app itself.

Note: You will be charged the normal fees for the banking products or services you use.

Can I download and use this app if I do not have Standard Bank accounts or products?
You do not have to have a Standard Bank product to download and use the Standard Bank Mobile Banking App.

Once registered, you will be able to explore our products and services using the app.

You can also register for Standard Bank products later and link them to the Standard Bank Mobile Banking App.

How secure is it to enter a PIN?
All security features have been enabled to make your session on the app completely secure. You will only need to enter the ATM PIN during registration or when you forgot your password. Other than that, you will never be asked to enter your ATM PIN on the device.

I have not received the registration verification PIN.
Make sure you have entered the correct email address. Or try "Resend Pin" to resend the Verification PIN. You can also check your "Spam Mail" for any emails from Standard Bank Mobile Banking App.

How do I deregister from the app?
Delete the app from the device to deregister.

Can I use this app on multiple devices?
There is no restriction on the number of devices you can download and install the app on. However, only one user can be registered on the app on a particular device.

Why do I need a different login from the current phone app?
The current Standard Bank phone app provides access to essential banking functionality, while the new tablet banking app has been completely re-designed to include comprehensive banking, insurance, share trading and investment management functionality.

Why do I need a Standard Bank ID?
It is unique to you as user, and it’s easy to remember. Once you have linked your accounts and products, you won't have to remember multiple usernames and passwords.

Note: This login is unique to the Standard Bank Mobile Banking App.

What is a Standard Bank ID?
Your Standard Bank ID is the email address with which you registered for the app. It is the single unique identifier to link all your Standard Bank accounts, products and services set up on your device.

How do I register for the app?
Launch the app.
Select Let’s get started
On the next screen, enter your preferred email address and create a new password.
(Passwords must have a minimum of six characters and must be a combination of upper and lower case letters and at least one number).
Accept the terms and conditions.
Click on Register.
A confirmation screen will now be displayed.
You will receive a verification code at your registered email address.
Enter the verification code to complete the registration process.

3. Linking my bank accounts
Can I link the card later, once the login and registration process is complete?
Yes, you can add a card later, once the login and registration process is complete.

Go to Manage dashboard, Add new dashboard and follow the process to add a card.

I have two cards and I want to register both for the app? Can I do that?
Yes, you can register more than one card, i.e. a cheque, debit or credit card.
Please follow the process to add a second card once you have registered the first card.

Note: When you add another card, a new dashboard will be created automatically, which will display only the accounts linked to the second card.

I'm a small business and registered for Internet Banking. Can I register for the app with my Business account?
Yes you can.
In addition, if you have a personal card and a business card, you can link both cards and create a personal and business dashboard within the app.

Which card should I register with?
You can use any transactional card to register on the app. It can be a debit, cheque or credit card. If you have all three cards, register with the primary card that has all other accounts linked to it, as well as any beneficiaries or recipients created in other channels like Internet Banking or ATM.

4. Logging into the app
Where can I get the tiles for OST and Insurance?
If you did not activate the OST or Insurance tiles during the registration process, you can download them from Explore. You will then need to follow the linking process.

My tablet was stolen. Is my account secure?
The Standard Bank Mobile Banking App is password protected and will not allow any unauthorised access to the App. Even if someone tries to retrieve the password they will have to provide specific account information not known to them.

Also, there are additional security steps that must be followed to add recipients and to make once-off payments. There are also daily withdrawal limits on specific transaction types to minimise risk if your password is compromised.

You can also log onto another device, go to Settings, and delink the stolen device from your Standard Bank ID.

I forgot my password/ entered the wrong password/ my account is locked. What do I do?
Please select the Have You Forgotten Your Password link on the login screen.
You will be required to supply information which we have on record in order for us to verify who you are. If you validate incorrectly, you will not be able to reset your password. In this event you will have to go to a branch to verify or update your information. Only then will you be able to reset your password.

Does the app remember login details?
Once you have registered your device, you won't have to enter your Standard Bank ID (username) every time, only your password.

Can another person log into the app on my device with their login details?
No, in order to keep the app as secure as possible, only one person can register for the app on a particular device. However, one person can have the app on several devices.

5. Online Share Trading
How do I buy and sell shares using the Standard Bank Mobile Banking App?
You must download the companion Online Share Trading app separately to trade.

How to get the Online Share Trading app:
  • On the Standard Bank Mobile Banking App home screen, select the tile which reads Download the Online Share Trading App.
  • The Welcome to Online Share Trading screen will now be displayed.
  • Select Let's get started.
  • On the next screen, enter your Standard Bank ID (email address) and password.
  • Accept the terms and conditions and click sign in.
  • Once authenticated, you should be able to trade via Online Share Trading on the app.

How do I link my Online Share Trading (OST) accounts?
You can register for OST after you have linked your bank card or directly proceed to register for OST.
If you have a bank card, register your card first and then register for OST:
  • Register your card.
  • After the Create Dashboard process, when you are given the option to Link Your Products, select the Online Share Trading account.
  • You will be prompted to enter your OST user name and password on the LinkYour Share Trading accounts page.
  • Accept the terms and conditions and select Link OST account.
  • On successful authentication, you will be able to see your list of Online Share Trading accounts.
  • You will be given the option to download the Online Share Trading App, which you can choose to download then or later.
If you do not have a bank card, skip the card registration process and proceed to the section where you can link your Online Share Trading account:
  • On the Standard Bank Mobile Banking App home screen, select the locked OST tile (the one with a key) .
  • You will be prompted to enter your OST user name and password on the Link Your Share Trading accounts page.
  • Accept the terms and conditions and select Link OST account.
  • On successful authentication, you will be able to see your list of Online Share Trading accounts.
  • You will be given the option to download the Online Share Trading App, which you can download then or later.

Can I download and use this app for Online Share Trading (OST) if I do not have any Standard Bank products?
Yes, you can use this app to view your OST portfolio, even if you do not have any other Standard Bank products.

6. Insurance
How do I link my Insurance policies?
If you have a bank card, register your card first and then register for Insurance:
  • Register your card.
  • After the Create Dashboard process, when you are given the option to Link Your Products, select Insurance policies.
  • Enter your ID number and email address/contact number on the Insurance registration screen.
  • On successful authentication, select Done on the disclaimer screen.
  • The Insurance landing screen will now display with your policy details.
If you do not have a bank card or if you have skipped the card registration process, you can proceed directly to Insurance registration:
  • Go to Explore and add the Insurance tile to the home screen.
  • On the home screen, select the locked insurance tile.
  • Enter your ID number and email address/contact number on the Insurance registration screen.
  • On successful authentication, select Done on the disclaimer screen.
  • The Insurance landing screen will now be displayed with your policy details.

7. Private Clients
What is the registration process for Melville Douglas and Fund Solutions ?
You must log onto the Melville Douglas or Fund Solutions website and register your device. You will receive a PIN, user number and portfolio code that you will use to authenticate yourself when linking your Private Client portfolio. Note that the PIN is only valid for four hours. When the PIN expires, you will have to relink your device on the relevant website again.

Once done, authenticate yourself on the Standard Bank Mobile Banking App to view the portfolio.
